You decide. Items can go to family members, be set aside for you to donate, or be carried to your dumpster or the curb. Donation centers usually want items in good working condition, clean and reusable. Carrying out discards is billed at hourly clean out rates, starting at $99/hr for one helper or $149/hr for two.
Does someone need to be home while seniors' belongings are packed?
The homeowner or a representative should be present to confirm details and sign paperwork. That can be an adult child or trusted friend if the homeowner prefers not to be there the whole day. Keep medications, IDs and important documents with that person throughout.
