How much does it cost to have furniture taken apart for a move?
Rocket Services charges $99/hr for one technician or $129/hr for two, with a one-hour minimum. A couple of beds and a desk often fit in about an hour. Mileage is $1 per round-trip mile from Aurora.
Is furniture disassembly included if Rocket Services helpers load my truck?
Yes. When Rocket Services helpers load or unload your rental truck or container, taking furniture apart and putting it back together happens during that hourly time rather than as a separate charge. The standalone assembly rate applies when you only need disassembly, such as before loading a pod yourself.
Can you take apart a wardrobe that will not fit through the door?
Yes. Wardrobes, armoires with removable tops and flat-pack systems can be taken down, hardware bagged and parts stacked. Some older solid pieces are glued rather than bolted, and those may not come apart, so the crew checks first.
Can you take apart furniture I am donating?
Yes. The crew can disassemble furniture for donation, stacking parts with their hardware attached and setting them aside for you. Rocket Services does not run donation pickups, so arrange that with the charity, and donated items should be in good working condition, clean and reusable.
